Below are our own trading qualifications first, then the management-system certificates of the steel mills we buy from.

Approvals from classification societies
Classification societies approve steel for shipbuilding, offshore and pressure equipment — the
hardest approvals to get in this industry. The mills we source from have held approvals from eight of them. They are
listed here with the date each one expires, and with the lapsed ones marked as lapsed: four are
currently valid, four have passed their expiry date. We show both because the point is the audit history, not the
decoration.

Again, these are the mills’ approvals, not ours. If your specification needs a classification
society approval that has lapsed here, tell us before you order and we will ask the mill for the renewed certificate —
and if it cannot be produced, we will say so rather than send you a dated document and hope you do not check.
Why this matters to your order
- You can know the mill before you order. We source from more than one mill, so we can match product,
grade, size and lead time instead of pushing whatever one plant happens to have. - You can tell which certificates are current. Every system, EU and classification certificate on
this page carries its registration number and its expiry date, and the ones that have lapsed are labelled as
lapsed. Nothing here is presented as more current than it is — you can check each one yourself. - Paperwork travels with the goods. Every shipment carries an EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate from
the producing mill; third-party inspection (SGS / BV) for 3.2 can be arranged on request. - Small and mixed orders are welcome. Buying through a trading company rather than a single mill means
we can combine several sizes and products into one shipment, from one tonne upwards.

Frequently asked questions
Are these certificates yours or the mills’?
Both kinds are shown here, clearly separated. The three certificates in the first group are our own trading qualifications. All the certificates in the second group belong to the steel mills we source from — Shandong Iron and Steel (Laiwu and Rizhao) — and are shown to demonstrate the quality systems behind the material we supply. We do not manufacture steel.
How can I check a certificate is genuine?
Every certificate carries its registration number, issue date, validity period and the mark of the issuing body, Beijing Guojin Hengxin Certification Co., Ltd. (GHC), with IAF and CNAS accreditation. You can verify them on the CNCA website (www.cnca.gov.cn) and on www.cmiqc.com.
Which mill will my order come from?
We source from several mills, so the best mill depends on the product, grade, size and delivery date. Tell us your specification and destination port and we will confirm the producing mill with your quotation — you will know the mill before you place the order, not after.
What quality documents travel with the shipment?
Every shipment is accompanied by an EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate issued by the producing mill. Third-party inspection (SGS, BV) for 3.2 certification can be arranged on request, and we can supply heat-number traceability where the mill provides it.
Do the mills hold European certification?
Yes. Shandong Iron and Steel Group Rizhao holds a CPR certificate under EU Regulation 305/2011 (No. 0035-CPR-A233.01, valid to 2028-05-14) and a PED quality-system certificate under EU Directive 2014/68/EU (No. 01 202 CHN/Q-19 0604.01, valid to 2028-05-05), both issued by TÜV Rheinland. Both are shown above and both are inside their validity period. They are the mill’s certificates, not ours.
Some of the classification society certificates have expired — why show them at all?
Because hiding them would tell you less. A classification society approval is evidence that the plant was independently audited and found capable of making steel to that rule — that does not stop being true when the paper expires, it just stops being current. So each one is shown with its own expiry date and the lapsed ones are marked ‘Expired’. What we will not do is put a lapsed certificate on the page looking like a live one. If your order needs a specific approval, ask us and we will get the current certificate from the mill before you commit.
