Frequently asked questions
What is the widest flat bar you can supply?
Up to 300 mm wide and 60 mm thick in hot-rolled material. Wider strip is normally supplied as slit coil or cut from plate.
What is the difference between hot-rolled and cold-drawn flat bar?
Hot-rolled bar has a normal mill finish and looser tolerance. Cold-drawn bar is pulled through a die, giving tight dimensional tolerance and a bright finish — preferred when the bar is visible or needs little machining.
Can you supply galvanized flat bar cut to length?
Yes. Galvanizing is normally done after cutting, so the cut ends are also coated.
How is flat bar packed?
Straight lengths are bundled and strapped with interleaving where surface finish matters; bright bar is additionally wrapped in VCI paper.
